Wilfrid Janig, MD, PhD

Dr. Wilfrid Janig has been a bench researcher for more than four decades. He has made seminal contributions to our understanding of the autonomic nervous system and pain.

Over his career, spanning more than forty years, he has published an enormous body of work including hundreds of original manuscripts, scores of chapters and commentaries, and numerous books. He has collaborated freely with scientists around the world.

He describes himself as a teacher, having educated many students and written many textbook chapters and as a cosmopolite who is not only at home in Kiel but also in many places of the world.
