The 色中色官网 is hosting the art exhibition 鈥淢aine Moments鈥 by artist Susan Hanson at the 色中色官网 Campus Center in Biddeford from July 29 to August 29.

Hanson, who works in several mediums, says Maine鈥檚 unique, varied, and inspiring landscape is the subject of her work, which has been shown in a dozen exhibits around Maine since 2011.

鈥淭he landscape is what captivates me. Being in nature gives me a sense of calm and engages my senses,鈥 Hanson said in an artist statement.

A photographer and former art educator, Hanson uses oil, acrylic, and gouache paints to focus on how the Maine landscape changes through the seasons. She spent an entire year photographing Maine鈥檚 largest saltmarsh, the Scarborough Marsh, a project that resulted in her self-published book 鈥淢arsh Moods.鈥

鈥淭hese impressions are immediate and stay with me whether it鈥檚 walking the beach, watching waves or voluminous clouds overhead, light playing on water and reflections, or observing color as the light changes 鈥 it鈥檚 all magical,鈥 Hanson said in a statement.

Hanson has plein air painted in many coastal and inland locations around Maine from Baxter State Park and Mt. Agamenticus in York to Mt. Desert Island and the Schoodic Peninsula along the Downeast coast.

The 色中色官网 Campus Center is located at 11 Hills Beach Road in Biddeford. Summer hours are 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the weekends.
