As part of the ɫ��ɫ���� Norway program in Tromsø, you will earn academic credit while immersing yourself in one of the world’s most spectacular regions.

Housing

Housing is based on availability each semester. You may need to find your own accommodations using resources recommended by The Arctic University of Norway.

Orientation

You will begin your study abroad experience before you even leave home by participating in information sessions and a Pre-Departure Orientation with ɫ��ɫ����’s Global Education Program staff, allowing you to connect with others in the program and reflect on your goals.

The ɫ��ɫ���� Norway program in Tromsø offers a curriculum that meets the needs of a range of undergraduate majors. Courses in the humanities, economics, and environmental sciences are taught in English, with the option to take a course to learn Norwegian. At The Arctic University of Norway, you will take courses and participate in activities with local students as well as other exchange students from many different countries, bringing many cultures together and giving you a truly global experience.

As you will be taking courses at another university, courses will be accepted back to ɫ��ɫ���� as transfer credits and will not impact your ɫ��ɫ���� GPA. Be sure to talk to your academic or faculty advisor about how study abroad will fit into your degree plan.

Semester Dates

Students spend approximately 16–19 weeks in Tromsø. Fall semester students arrive in Norway around mid-August and return home in mid-December. Spring semester students arrive in Norway at the beginning of January and return home in mid-June.

Prerequisites

Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5. No Norwegian language experience is necessary, and all academic majors are welcome. Students should bring their own laptops.

Costs

Students may use all ɫ��ɫ���� scholarships and financial aid to study abroad and are billed the same tuition as a traditional on-campus semester. Students are responsible for arranging and paying for their own housing.

Scholarships

Students participating in a ɫ��ɫ���� semester abroad program will be automatically awarded a $500 Global Education Scholarship. You may also apply for the — established by Mrs. Eva M. Downs, whose late husband, Jacques M. Downs, was a beloved history professor at ɫ��ɫ����. The Downs family are champions of global education and ɫ��ɫ����’s campus in Morocco. This scholarship was established to provide support for students who may not otherwise be able or inclined to participate in a semester abroad at the ɫ��ɫ���� Tangier Campus or other ɫ��ɫ���� semester abroad program.
